My method is super simple and never fails. What's better on a summer night than fried chicken and fresh corn on the cob?
Here's what I do:
Heat about 6 cups of oil a deep saucepan. (If your pan is large, you may need more oil, you want it to cover the chicken while cooking) Oil should be about 375 degrees to fry. Drop a pinch of flour in and see if it sizzles rapidly, if so, it's ready.
In a large Ziploc bag, mix 1 cup of flour with 1 envelope (dry) Italian Dressing Mix.
Add drumsticks, 1 at a time to bag and shake to coat.
Repeat with all.
Add drumsticks, a few at a time, don't crowd the pan. Watching at all times--fry for about 16 to 17 minutes.
Remove to paper towels to drain, and continue with the remaining drumsticks.
I love to serve these with fresh buttered corn on the cob for a perfect summertime meal~!
