PorkChops, Easy, Savory and Oh So Tender

I'm not going to pretend this is a healthy meal. It's not. But it's good and more importantly, my husband enjoys it. Every once in a while a dinner like this won't hurt you. But look out, it could become habit forming.

Here what I do to innocent pork chops...

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter--divided use (you can you less, but I don't)

1-1/2 pounds 1 inch thick boneless pork chops*
3/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 Tablespoon garlic salt
1 Tablespoon seasoned pepper
1 Tablespoon paprika

4 oz. fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup finely chopped onion

*It's important to use fresh chops in this, use frozen ones for something else.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix together paprika, pepper, corn starch & garlic salt. Dredge chops in mixture on all sides and edges.

Meanwhile, melt 4 Tablespoons butter over medium heat.

Brown chops on all sides in butter.

Place into baking dish.

Don't wash pan, melt remaining butter.

Add mushrooms and chopped onions. Saute until tender.

Pour everything over top chops in baking dish.

Cover tightly with lid or foil and bake for 1 hour.

We love having these pork chops with fresh rolls and green beans.
