BBQ Chicken for Sandwiches

Busy summer nights require easy meals that aren't a big hassle to prepare. This recipe fits the bill perfectly. Toss it into your crock pot and hit the beach.

You'll return to a house that smells like Heaven and a meal that everyone will enjoy. Simply serve with chips and pickles and call it a meal!



2 broiler/fryer chicken (3 to 3-1/2 pounds each), boiled, cooled and shredded
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cups water
1-1/4 cups chili sauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon each: salt, celery seed and chili powder
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Freshly baked buns
Pickles and potato chips

In a 3-qt. slow cooker or Dutch oven, combine all ingredients except buns. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours in the slow cooker Serve on buns with pickles and potato chips.
Serves 10.
*Great to freeze and reheat for busy summer nights!
