Baked Potato Buffet

Baked Potato Buffets were all the rage for bridal & baby showers back in "the day". There was, in fact a-hole-in-the-wall restaurant I used to go to that was a Baked Potato Bar.
Big, tender, piping hot potatoes that you could heap with just about anything. Oh the combinations you could come up with. It was seriously a pregnant woman's dream~!
Next time you're looking for something different, try this. You can make it as elaborate as you'd like, offering dozens of toppings, or keep it fairly simple--either way everyone is going to love it.

Get the freshest, large, similarly sized potatoes you can find. Think of a variety of toppings, from the standard requests to the outlandish. Hey, it's a party after all!

Some tasty ideas are:

Chili

A Variety of Shredded Cheeses

Jalapenos

Sour Cream

Whipped Cream Cheese

Cheese sauce

Broccoli

Chopped Turkey

Onions/Chives

Bacon

Butter

Cubed Ham

Seasoned Taco Beef/Turkey

PS~ Did you know you can bake potatoes in your Crock Pot? You can! Scrub potatoes and rub dry. Stand on end in crock pot allowing room for air to circulate. (Don't cram!)
Set to LOW and allow to cook for 8-12 hrs. depending on size of potatoes.
