It's really the fresh fruit part that I love. Any berries are fantastic on them. Fresh ripe peach slices are also a huge hit.
I also make "real" whipped cream. The difference is amazing and it only takes a few minutes.
For the fluffiest whipped cream, stash your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer beforehand.

1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup vegetable oil
Strawberries, pancake syrup and whipped cream*, optional
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs; add milk, vanilla & oil.
Stir into dry ingredients just until combined.
Cook in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown. Serve with syrup, berries and whipped cream if desired.
Serves 4.
*Whipped Cream
1 small container heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup powdered sugar
In a chilled bowl, whip cream at highest mixer speed until fluffy. Add vanilla and sugar and beat just until combined.
Keep refrigerated.
